The Current was a non-profit organization examining the role of museums of the future, collecting and exhibiting digitally-enabled works by artists and technologists.
The logotype is constructed out of a series of custom-drawn rounded and squared-off geometric shapes, which are then programmatically assembled into one of many possible forms for each individual application. Tightly packed, the negative spaces in the letters connect and suggest electrical pathways.
An overlay pattern is added, shaped like the holes in a computer punchcard — the digital made physical. Display text is set in Media77, a revival of Media from 1977 — the physical made digital.
