Container Artist Residency is an artist-in-residence program that sends a selected group of artists onto commercial freight ships to produce artworks and document their experience along their chosen freight routes.

The website was designed for both informational purposes, with looping backgrounds of ocean currents and a video piece by founder Maayan Strauss providing a sense of motion/travel, and as a documentary travelogue to which the artists can post their experiences. Long scrolling is put to use (travel of its own sort), and a subtle visual metaphor for cargo-stacking is present throughout.
